Justice within four months
Enforce the 4-month deadline. ₹1 crore for every month missed.
The law already says rape investigations must finish within 2 months of the FIR, and trials within 2 months of the chargesheet: about four months in all. That deadline is ignored. We demand it be enforced: every rape trial must conclude within four months of the FIR being filed, with every right of appeal preserved. For every month of delay beyond that, the State pays the survivor ₹1 crore in compensation. The Fast Track Special Courts scheme must be made permanent, and the number of these courts doubled.
